Even though a LOT of people were let down by the fact that the White Stripes officially ended as a band, Jack White had already made it clear that there was a lot to come from him. This concept album is a prime example of what he has to offer as a singer this time. Norah Jones never ceases to amaze with her skills and vocals. Danger Mouse can now officially say that his music is quality and Daniele Luppi is there to seal the deal on a collaboration that stands in awe of Italian spaghetti western movies of the 60s and 70s.
This are the two brand new singles from this project which was being prepared for the last 5 years. The project is entitled "Rome" and as the official release states:
Over five years in the making, ROME was born out of Danger Mouse and composer/arranger Daniele Luppi's shared passion for classic Italian film music. After an intense songwriting period, the pair traveled to Rome where they sought out several of the original musicians who performed on scores for films such as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West. Played and recorded live, straight to tape and in keeping with the recording practices of the 1960s/70s golden age, this ambitious and beautiful record also features vocal contributions from Jack White and Norah Jones. Rome will be released through Parlophone/EMI on May 16th UK/May 17th US. You can purchase the current singles and pre-order the album (including an option with a special screen print) from HERE.
